Supporting the Kirinya Children’s Centre in Uganda
Our Story
From a makeshift school made with planks of wood and iron sheets to a modern bricks and mortar facility providing high quality education and a thriving community
Please Donate
We are helping the very poorest families and providing opportunities which would normally be out of reach. Your donation no matter how small will help us to help them
Our School
The Kirinya Centre in Uganda provides education and support for over 150 pupils and teachers in our nursery and primary school and are currently taking care of more than 70 orphans
Welcome to the Helen Margaret Owen Foundation
It is our heart to support the most vulnerable children in education, to raise their prospects and unlock a better future.
Our students come from very poor backgrounds and we are currently caring for 49 orphans. We were founded to provide a quality eduction to children who wouldn’t otherwise be able to go to school.
Your donation will not only directly benefit the children, you are also helping to build a thriving community.
Every Child Deserves a Better Future!
We are laying foundations and building so much more than a school. We are an established school which benefits the children, community, economy, raising prospects and unlocking a better future.
In 2019 we became a small charity under the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Helen Margaret Owen
After taking early retirement, Helen Owen visited Uganda and her life went in a direction she had never expected.
Her experience was life-changing, for her and also for the Children in the village of Namataba.
From humble beginnings, the Kirinya Centre now provides high quality nursery and primary school eductation and is at the hub of a vibrant and thriving community.
